An off-duty NYPD 72nd Precinct officer was assaulted on 60th Street; the suspect was arrested.

An off-duty NYPD officer assigned to the 72nd Precinct was assaulted by an individual on 60th Street between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue, prompting the officer to call for backup as additional NYPD units, including officers from the 66th Precinct, responded to the scene. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital with lacerations to the head.
